Colin 'Tanky' Hearnshaw DSM

Hi guys

He was a Telegraphist Air Gunner (TAG) with 806 Squadron 1940/41 flying Skuas and Fulmars. He gained his nickname due to several dips in the sea - he always floated - hence 'Tanky'.

Does anyone have record of these incidents - believed to have been six or seven? Perhaps some pre-war?

We have already established that his Fiirefly ditched during the Korean War, and that he was aboard a Sea Heron that ditched in 1972.

Any help appreciated.

Cheers
Brian
