Odd Marking on Me109E Wing Cooler Flap
Hey guys,
This is an Me109E Wing Cooler flap that was recovered from a wreck. This type of markings seems oddly familiar, but I cannot recall where I have seen it before...and the reason why it was painted. Thoughts? TIA Mike Last edited by harrison987; 24th February 2018 at 22:20. |

Personal opinion only, but:
I see a 'White M' that has been over painted with 'Red D'. My thoughts are it is the coloured letter code from a schlachtgeschwader or zerstorergruppe. Why it was applied to the cooler flap I do not know. |

yeah,
They are written too large and with more style (especially the "D"), to be some sort of ground crew/mechanic reference... Anyone else have some thought on this? |
