Egon Albrecht Bf110C-4 WNr 3666

According to my info, Albrecht belly-landed this a/c on 19/12/42.
Does anyone know the unit codes it carried? I would imagine S9+?M, and if so what was the ?. If not, he could have borrowed an a/c from another staffel, and again if so, what were the codes?
Thanks
Peter

Good evening dear PMoz99,

sorry, I cannot answer your question but I'm interested in Egon Albrecht, too.
Was he a Brazilian citizen or a German ?

Cheers,

Michael

Hello Michael,

Apparently he was born in Curitiba, Paraná State (Brazil), a town that produced a lot of Brazilian heroes in WW2...(Gomm, Albrecht, etc.).

Good evening Adriano,

nice to hear from you.
The name Albrecht sounds much more German than Portuguese.
I suppose he was merely the son of a German couple living abroad, wasn't he ?

Have a nice Thusday,

Michael

Yes Michael,

They were born here from German fathers (sometimes Mothers as well) who were working and living there.

There are at least some 15+ such Brazilians that flew for the LW...with much more that served the Whermacht, Kriegsmarine, SS, etc.

I know at least 2 LW airmen from Chili and there were a couple from other Southern Countries as well (if memory doest not play a trick on me).

Of course, the contingent of Brazilian born that served the RAF, RCAF, SAAF is much greater...I have some 120+ biographies started about those...in 6-7 volumes....a long work to Honour them properly...some 1,600 written pages in more than 12 years...

Clostermann for instance was also born in Curitiba...the same town of Gomm and Egon Albrecht!

Adriano

I remember seeing an art of a Bf 110 C, coded S9+IM that was attributed to Albrecht....but can not confirm this.

I do not have VASCO's work about SKG 210...maybe some of you which do have it can help us...

VASCO is certainly the one who may know the correct codes for Albrecht's machines...whilst he was flying with SKG 210 and ZG 1 (Wespe).

Re: Egon Albrecht Bf110C-4 WNr 3666

According to a post of Matti Salonen on 22 Oct 2011 in a thread about Uffz Urban the Werknummer of Lt Albrecht’s Bf 110 C-4 on 19 Dec 1942 was 3566, not 3666.

#8 - And therein lies the rub with said documents - it's not unusual for the different types of related documents to not always agree. In this case, did Matti have the benefit of an WASt loss entry?
