Air War Publications news

Hello,

In the last few months Morten and I have been very busy researching and gathering material for future book projects, but we thought we’d share some news from Air War Publications.

We have a special Christmas offer available for customers who purchase our first title, Focke-Wulf Fw 190 in the Battle for Sicily, from the Air War Publications website: each book will be accompanied by a free A4 colour print of one of Claes Sundin’s superb artworks featured in the book.

A photograph appearing in our book has inspired Pedro Chiappe to produce a drawing of one of the Focke-Wulf 190s that served with Sch.G. 2 in the summer of 1943: http://www.hyperscale.com/2011/galleries/fw190sicilyartworkpc_1.htm.

For American customers, the book is available on Amazon.com: http://www.amazon.com/Focke-Wulf-Fw-190-Battle-Sicily/dp/8799335204. Included on that page is a very favourable review from Neil Page, along with eight sample pages from the book, to give potential buyers a good idea of what to expect from our company’s first title.

Forum members who read Flugzeug Classic may have seen the two articles we had published earlier this year. They give an idea of the content and level of detail found in Focke-Wulf Fw 190 in the Battle for Sicily, along with some samples of the photographs, maps and colour profiles included in the book.

We are making great progress with the research and writing for future titles Focke-Wulf Fw 190 Defending Southern Italy and Air War Over Courland, and hope to finish one or both of these books next year. We would then aim to publish them in late-2012 or 2013. Further ahead, we are working on the final ‘Fw 190 in the Mediterranean’ book, unit histories of the American 31st Fighter Group and German II./Jagdgeschwader 51, and a number of others. We’ve made a really good start on the research for all of these projects, and will keep the forum informed of our progress.

All the best,
Andrew Arthy & Morten Jessen
