Re: Photo + Document, German
Interesting find Ed
Is this the official document which shows that flieger Albert has passed his civil flight test and is now a fully certified pilot? I don't know what Fliegerpass really is (Google just says no such word exists) so it seems to be a seller's "invention". Nice to see good old Albert missed his first precision landing, since that is what I did myself a long, long time ago. Where did those 50 years go?? I am a bit curious that the Police was handling the official revue. I suppose there was no other official body doing that at this point in time? When did that job transfer over to a proper civil aviation administration? If anyone wonders why Albert stands in front of D-1323 when he passed his exam in D-1324, I looked it up and both aircraft were owned by Aero-Express in Leipzig. Cheers Stig |

Re: Photo + Document, German
Hello,
German Police has an Airpolice-Branch as an part of General Law Enforcement at that time! In German terms "Luftaufsicht". They handle all laws for Pilots as the same for an cardriver!! Between 1933 and 1945 this service was part of the Luftwaffe, called "Reichsluftaufsicht R.L.A.D." They wear the Luftwaffen-Uniform with lightgreen collar patches. An civil aviation Department like the US FAA excist in Germany since 1950. h. |

Re: Photo + Document, German
Thanks Hans
So it was the Police department that handled licensing of civil pilots in Germany. Very interesting and why not? Cheers Stig |
