Obfw Paul Witke ( 13./JG 27 ) + KIA 22/02/1945
Good night to all on this Forum!
I am seeking more details on the loss of Obfw Paul Witke, from 13th Staffel JG 27 on 22nd March 1945. I do need the place of crash/combat and more details about his machine ( K-4? G-6/AS? G-14? werknummer? Codes? ). ANY information on Obfw Witke´s career would be welcomed too. ( I do know he was credited with 8 victories in the war ). Yours Adriano Baumgartner |

Re: Obfw Paul Witke ( 13./JG 27 ) + KIA 22/02/1945
Hello Adriano,
Ofw. Paul Wittke of 13./JG 27 was shot down in aerial combat and crashed to his death near Ascheberg, in Münster area. His aircraft on this occasion was Bf 109 K-4 WNr. 330415, white 11+~. Wittke has made his eighth and final claim (for a Spitfire south-west of Münster) on the very same day, i.e. on 22 February 1945 at 15.00 hours. Source: Messerschmitt Bf 109 im Einsatz bei der III. und IV./Jagdgeschwader 27 by Prien, Rodeike and Stemmer. Hope this helps, Ota |

Thanks a lot OTA!
Just what I was looking for...I am aware of JG 27 by PRIEN ( I do have all volumes for JG 53 ), but it is still on the huge list of "wanted for Christmas"... All the best for you and thanks again for the most valuable help! Adriano |
