Re: eBAy: Captured german planes

Appears to be W.Nr. 201835, so a G-8 reconnaissance model.

In addition to the above-noted machines, photos reveal that there were also the following:

Focke-Wulf Fw 190 D-9 "Red 3" (JV 44)
Focke-Wulf Fw 190 D-9 "Red 13" (JV 44)
Focke-Wulf Fw 190 A
Grunau "Baby"

Cheers,

David

Cheers, David
FYI, Grunau Baby ... flew 2 of the DFS-49 Grunau Baby IIb2 glider version (wider cockpit) on winch tow, open cockpit, many times. Glide ratio of 1:17 or less (optimist). You push one rudder and ... wait for response ... Deep stall and one can look ahead the other way! Landing distance down to just 5 meters, not much wind needed. -Ed

Re: eBAy: Captured german planes

Hey David,
can you tell me where to find a photo of D-IHEA at Ainring revealing the code? This plane is visible in some of the photos I know, but sadly the code is readable in none of them..

Cheers,
Christian
