German vs American procedures

In Roger A Freeman's book "The Mighty Eighth" he states that after having climbed out of their cockpits, American fighter pilots would be handed a "Form 1" by their Crew Chief, which they would fill out and write down any details about any mechanical problems they experienced during their flight. Did the Germans have a similar procedure or did they leave everything to the ground crews?

Thanks
