Combat use of 900 litre fuel tanks
Hi all
I'm trying to establish whether the underwing 900 litre tanks used by Bf110s were used solely for ferry flights, or were also used during combat missions. I know that various photos show them being used on patrols, but I'm not sure whether they were wanted or needed when flying into areas where combat was expected (for example, over the Med', or during the campaign in Iraq). Any help much appreciated!

Thanks for that. I'm still not completely sure about those 900l tanks though!
