III./KG 200

Does anyone know from which airbases III./KG 200 was operating in April 1945? I believe that in March it was based at Stavanger-Sola but moved to Germany the next month. Grateful for help.

Re: III./KG 200

11./KG 200 had been operating alongside NSG 20 since November 1944. The rest of the III. Gruppe (Stab, 9. and 10.) were training in Stavanger early in '45. It seems that 11./KG 200 was reunited with the 9. and 10. Staffeln in late March (apparently at Drope) and by April the Gruppe was flying day and night ground attack missions from Lübeck-Blankensee before retreating to Eggebeck, near the German/Danish border.

Re: III./KG 200

P.S. despite what you may read in some older books, there is no evidence that the Gruppe ever flew anti-shipping operations from Norway (or anywhere else).
