Geez Alex, that's like asking "How big is BIG". Have you tried Google?

Here's a few to start,

Alex

I have two different lists of Air Bases the USAAF used in Britain during WW 2 (both downloaded from the 'net).
If you send me a PM with your e-mail I will send them over to you.

If anyone else is interested you can do the same

Cheers
Stig

Re: 8th & 9th AAF Bases in Norfolk

Thank you both,
The details from the www that you so kindly provided do not however show any links to which Groups were at which airfield as far as I could see, perhaps I am missing something ?
That said, I am greatful to you both for your time and effort .
Thank you
Alex

Re: 8th & 9th AAF Bases in Norfolk

Hi Alex. I don't know whether Stig's lists link groups to bases but these are the 2nd and 3rd Div. bomb groups in Norfolk (and Suffolk); useful for unit designators too.
The only other operational units in Norfolk were
E. Wretham---359FG
Bodney---352FG
802RG(P) / 25BG---Watton
803BS / 36BS----Sculthorpe/Oulton

There were several Eighth AFSC, supply and HQ etc. organisations in the county too.

The Ninth AF didn't have any operational units in Norfolk.
Regards
Nick
