W/Cdr R Colenso DFC.

Hello,

George Raymond Colenso DFC was admitted to hospital in December 1944. He was at the time the C/O of 299 Squadron. I am trying to find what he was admitted for, and what became of him. I know it was not anything to do operations wise.

Thank you

Steve

The Summary and Records of Events of 299 Squadron for November 1944 are signed by C.B.R. Colenso. A different person?

Regards,
Leendert

Re: W/Cdr R Colenso DFC.

From a Linkedin page: "My Father Wing Commander GBR Colenso DFC took me for the last Bomber Command Operational Flight at the end of WW2 placing me in the Bomb Aimers Bay, making me the last person to fly in a Lancaster Bomber during Operations."

I'm sure this can be verified at some future point.

Regards,
Leendert
