Tracer
Hello all,
First post and i am looking for help! Am trying to trace any information on a WW2 Luftwaffe Fighter pilot named Tiedemann poss rank Major .We know he survived the war having been shot down, escaped and managed to get back to his own lines. To the best of our knowledge he received the following decorations amongst others; Iron cross 2nd class Kriegsverdienstkreuz Nahkampfspange kriegsverdienstkreuz Unfortunately we dont know his first name . Can anyone help or suggest where we can find some information on the war record and what has happened to him since then? |

Re: Tracer
Could be, do you have any information about Helmut Tiedmann?
Here a picture of the medals. Sorry for the bad quality, don't have my camera with me and took one with the crappy webcam ;-) |

Re: Tracer
I see a tank destruction badge. Did this man also serve in a Luftwaffe ground unit?

We know virtually nothing about this chap...thought he might have been conscripted into ground forces at the very end of the war? does the tank badge only apply to ground forces ? PJ |

Re: Tracer
maybe he shot it down with his plane. Guess they would give him such a tank destruction badge aswell.
