Eric Cecil Fieldsend - 615 sqn - Luftwaffe and Allied Air Forces Discussion Forum

Hello,

Eric Cecil Fieldsend (90397).

He is mentioned in the ORB of the Squadron since its creation in 1938, with the rank of Flying Officer.

On 20 January 1940, It is mentioned in the ORB that "Flying Officer Fieldend posted to 61 Wing for Flight Lieutnant duties.

Would anyone have information about him after he left the No. 615 Squadron ?

I just found, in the London Gazette, that he is mentioned as Squadron Leader on 1st november 1944 and retaining the rank of Wing Commander on 13 december 1954 (Royal Auxiliary Air Force Reserve of Officers).

If anyone has more details about him ?

Seems he was a controller at Middle Wallop.

Hello,

I was told (on another forum) that he was transferred to RAF Middle Wallop on 20 July 1940. But I had no information about his duties at Middle Wallop. Thank you for this additional information.
