Bf109F, WNr.8315

Hi Guys,

In JFV Teil 6.I, page 52 (Stab JG3) Jochen Prien gives a list of Friedrich flown by Maj. Gunther Lützow between 22.6 to 5.12.1941.
Among them we can find a 8315.
Was it an Erla build F-4 or not?
I have it like that, batch 8267 to 8399. (all others being F-2s)
Thanks.

Regards,
Franck.

Re: Bf109F, WNr.8315

Hello Franck,

the WNr. 8315 was an Erla built Bf 109 F-2.
Erla block 8267-8399:
8267-8302 F-4
8303-8332 F-2
8332-8399 F-4.

Re: Bf109F, WNr.8315

Thank you Leo, very much.
1/ Just did ask that for the machine pictured on page 50 looks furiously an F-4 and I did start to think that if "Franzl" got his last 25 kills on 9704 maybe 8315 was used for PK purpose.
2/ But I can suppose too that if 8315 was an F-2 right in the middle of an F-4 production by same factory it's possible it got all F-4 external characteristics ...

Regards,
Franck.
