Fieseler Storch KR+QC

All

Merry Christmas to one and all.

Does anyone have any more info on this plane.

I'm sure I have seen a old ebay photo of her.

Operated in Finlnd/Northern Russia in 1942.

Would like to know a bit more about her and if photo does exist.

regard,

Mark

Re: Fieseler Storch KR+QC

Possibly this one Mark?

I have noted it down as KP+QC but looking at it it might well be KR and not KP.
It is very small and second letter very hard to read.

Cheers
Stig

Merry Christmas, Mark.

May I take the opportunity to ask whether you still use the demon.co.uk e-mail address? I sent you a message earlier this month about one of your past projects and thought to check whether I have the right address.

Kind regards,

Dan

Re: Fieseler Storch KR+QC

Hi all,

Great photos. Looks like the same bird - one winter and one summer.

The one in the snow is superb and what I am looking for with regards an article. Bit more info. KR+QC Fieseler Fi156 C-3/Trop WNr.5482

Gogh - any idea of the seller/buyer. I'll have to search ebay for this watermark.

Dan - yep, email is the same. I thought I responded a couple of days ago on the TOCH PM.

regards,

Mark

Mark

Thanks to Gogh identifying the WNr I have two listings for that aircraft

1) 40% dam 6.6.1942 with Kurierkette AOK Lappland when it failed to take off at Kananainen, Russia (Karelen)
2) It was completely destroyed (100%) 24.1.1945 by its own troops somewhere in Belgium, when with 1./Flugber.z.b.V (Verbindungsgeschwader 2)

Cheers
Stig

Mark, unfortunately your PM did not make it through. I have space in my message inbox and receive other messages with no problems, so may I ask you to resend? You can also use e-mail, whichever is more convenient.

Thank you for sharing that data, Stig. That place should be the Karelian village of Kananainen on the northern shore of lake Tungozero, called Tungjärvi in Finnish. I had thought this was in the part of Karelia annexed by the Soviet Union in 1940 and again in 1944, but is it in fact in pre-war Russian Karelia? In any case, for the location see https://www.sotahistoriallisetkohtee.../357Kananainen

The Finnish air force operated Junkers K 43fa floatplanes from that lake, as shown by the following image:

Kind regards,

Dan
