Daylight victories Fw. Peter Laufs Z./KG30 & I.(Z)/LG1?

Dear all,

I am looking for details of the five (?) daylight victories that were claimed by Fw. Peter Laufs in Z./KG30 and I.(Z)/LG1 -Laufs joined the Nachtjagd in the summer of 1940 and subsequently became a successful intruder pilot over the UK.

Cheers & thanks, Theo

Hi Chris,

Many thanks for your quick reply, much appreciated! One last question -did Laufs achieve all of his four daylight Abschüsse whilst he was serving in I.(Z)/LG1?

Cheers, Theo

Pretty sure those claims would have been with Z./KG 30. I.(Z)/LG 1 didn't go to Norway. (And those were 4 claims I didn't have. Thanks Chris.)

Hi Chris,

Yes, I've come across his name both as Lauffs and Laufs, but it appears that his name is commonly spelt as Laufs.

Cheers, Theo

Theo,

According to Shores, et al. in Fledgling Eagles (pg. 264) the claim on 13 Apr was not confirmed.

Cheers,
Tom
