Me262 and Ju188 Wrecks
Found these two images on a 3rd Infantry Div. website.
Me262 caption states May 1945 near Salzburg, Austria Ju188 wrecks, no caption, but possibly near Salzburg or Hersfeld. Tony Last edited by Tony Kambic; 25th July 2018 at 16:43. |

Re: Me262 and Ju188 Wrecks
Tony,
IMHO, the second pic does show the bunch of Ju 88 G-6 scrapped at Neubiberg, near Munich. Cheers Marc |

Re: Me262 and Ju188 Wrecks
"White 22" is photographed at Salzburg-Maxglan in summer '45. It belonged to JV 44 when the unit transferred from its bases at Hofoldinger Forst/Autobahn and München-Riem. The jet landed into a heap of gravel and the notoriously weak nose gear collapsed. When the remnants of the unit transferred to Innsbruck-Hötting the damaged Me 262 was left behind. "White 12" of JV 44 is similarily marked; it might have been one of the 500xxx series produced at Waldwerk "Stauffen" eastnortheast of Mtt Obertraubling

The second photo is showing the pile of Ju 88G tails at Brunnthal near the entrance, where part of the sign posted below can be seen to the left on the photo in post #1.
