However Shores and et all speculates in the MAW Vol 1 that it may have been a case of friendly fire. Serg Luigi Gorrini claimed a twin-engine aircraft idenfied as either a Blenheim or a Beaufighter which crashed not far from Derna airfield after the crew had bailed out. Since no RAF aircraft was lost that day, but a Bf 110 certainly was it is a question of adding one and one together.... Cheers Stig |
