Oblt Erich Kircheis JG51

Hello all

I wonder if anyone could help me ?

I'm looking for an image of Oberleutnant Erich Kircheis, Rottenflieger and Adjutant to Werner Moelders at JG51. He was shot down over Kent on 28th August 1940 and captured.

I've looked in several publications and searched the internet without success. If anyone has an image they would be willing to share or could point me in the right direction that would be great.

many thanks...

If anywhere, it would be in Jochen Prien's books and there is nothing. Failing that a POW photo. He was member of the Canada POW Association in 1982 but not in 1992; I wrote to him but never got a reply

Many thanks for the reply Chris. He's certainly a hard Pilot to track down. I'll keep searching and keep my fingers crossed.

Re: Oblt Erich Kircheis JG51

There is a lot on this pilot (including parts of interviews and photos) in the series jagwaffe. Apparently Erik Mombeeck was in contact with him.

Regards Phil.

Re: Oblt Erich Kircheis JG51

Hello,

From the Prien Coll, sourced to Mombeekm is a pretty good photo of him in the cockpt of a Stab. I./JG135 Bf109D-1 at Bad Aibling during 1938. Don't know if this meets your needs, but I'm sure that this could be made available if necessary. I have a scan of this from Jochen.

Regards,

Dear Larry

Thank you very much for your reply and suggestion. If you could PM me with the image of Oblt Kircheis in the Bf109D you mentioned that would be really appreciated.

Very best regards

Jon...
