Air War Publications starts publishing electronic articles

Hi everyone,

Air War Publications is very pleased to announce our latest releases – a pair of thoroughly researched and fully illustrated electronic articles available to purchase and download from the company website (http://www.airwarpublications.com/e-articles). They are:

‘Christmas in Courland 1944’ by Andrew Arthy (15 pages, 9 photos & 3 illustrations)
‘The Life of Fritz Schröter’ by Andrew Arthy & Morten Jessen (13 pages, 9 photos & 7 illustrations)

The eArticles are affordably priced, and have been presented in ready-to-print Adobe pdf format. They are in full colour, with photographs, colour maps, artwork, and profiles.

We have several more electronic articles being written by well-known aviation historians and authors:

‘The Death of the Top Mustang Ace’ by John Beaman
‘Camouflage Commentary 1: Unit Identity of Fw 190 A-8 WNr. 175 140 and Use of Colour RLM 77’ by David E. Brown
Jagdgeschwader 2 Aces’ by Leo Etgen & Andrew Arthy
‘Stories of 1. Wüstennotstaffel’ by Adam Thompson & Andrew Arthy
‘Hampden in Swedish Service’ by Mikael Olrog

The company website has also been relaunched, and you can now sign up to receive newsletters announcing new books, articles and free downloads.

We have been hard at work on our two major printed book titles, Air War Courland, and Focke-Wulf Fw 190 Defending Southern Italy. Andrew spent the summer of 2012 in Denmark, which resulted in some excellent progress on both titles. To keep track of our work on these book projects, please sign up for the newsletter, and ‘like’ us on our Facebook page: www.facebook.com/airwarpublications.

The latest printed title under development by Air War Publications has also been announced, the story of the Henschel Hs 123, by Morten Jessen and David West. Despite being obsolete prior to the outbreak of the Second World War, the Hs 123 found its place as a precision ground-attack aircraft and was loved by its pilots. Using factory documents, numerous pilot interviews, and plenty of unpublished photos, this book will tell the full story of the Hs 123.

After a lengthy silence we are glad to be able to announce some new releases, and hope that they are enjoyed by our readers.

All the best,
Andrew & Morten

Hi,

The events of 25 December 1944 will certainly be covered in the Air War Courland book, but not in as much detail as in the 'Christmas in Courland 1944' eArticle. There are so many stories to be told in the book, so it's going to be difficult to fit them all in!

All the best,
Andrew A.

That Hs 123 book sounds very interesting! I do hope that you could include official test reports verbatim in it.

Hej Jukka
Thanks for your interest in the Hs 123 project. It will be an interesting book - there are many untold 123-stories Regarding the factory material it will probably be summed up in the text, as well as tables and graphs in order to present it in a readable and interesting way, rather than bore the reader with more or less uninteresting details.

Kind regards
Morten

Hi everyone,

Our 'Christmas in Courland 1944' eArticle has received a very positive review from Neil Page, which can be read here: http://falkeeins.blogspot.com.au/201...earticles.html.

So if you'd like to find out more about the eventful life and Luftwaffe service of Ritterkreuzträger Fritz Schröter, or about the air fighting over Courland in the winter of 1944/1945, please visit our site and download our two eArticles from http://www.airwarpublications.com/e-articles. You won't be disappointed!

All the best,
Andrew & Morten

Re: Air War Publications starts publishing electronic articles

Hi Nick,

We are planning to publish the Air War Courland book before we publish the FW 190 over Southern Italy book. Unfortunately we aren't able to provide any publication dates for either of those projects - Morten and I have been very busy indeed with our day jobs these last few months, so progress has stalled.

On the bright side, several eArticles are nearly ready for release, and I'm going to take time off over the Australian summer to do some book-writing. Sorry that I can't be more specific with dates.

Cheers,
Andrew A.

Re: Air War Publications starts publishing electronic articles

Hi Michael,

Thanks for the interest in Courland. My day job will be quiet for the next month or two, so I hope to make some serious progress on the Courland book in the coming weeks. I've got more than enough Jagdgeschwader 54 material, so hope to obtain more about III./Schlachtgeschwader 3, Nahaufklärungsgruppe 5 and Nachtschlachtgruppe 3. The research phase is almost over, then it will be writing time.

So short answer: if 'real life' doesn't intervene, progress will be made in the final months of this year!

Cheers,
Andrew A.
