Two SM.79 lost on 10 June 1941
Hello, on 10 June 1941 two SM.79s of Scuola di Pilotaggio di 2° Periodo e Addestramento B.T. of Jesi collided in the air. One was probably MM22012.
I would like to have more details about this accident, especially: _ location _ serial and fate of the aircraft _ names and fate of the crew Thanks in advance Laurent |

Re: Two SM.79 lost on 10 June 1941
Thanks Gianandrea,
Four men killed in an air collision between two S.79 is rather low. Do you know if only one bomber crashed after the collision (and so probably all casualties were aboard), or if both crashed and casualties may be aboard both aircraft (in this case, there were probably also survivors) ? Best regards Laurent |

Re: Two SM.79 lost on 10 June 1941
I don't know.
Usually, some flights (e.g. the first flight solo) were performed by the pilot and an engineer only, without other crewmembers on board but I don't think that this was the case (one of the killed was a montatore (fitter) and not an engineer). ciao Gianandrea |
