Re: eBAy: Captured german planes

Hello again RudiS,
This aircraft has probably been destroyed by its owners, and displays the technical details of a Bf 109 G-6 or early G-14: lower oil filler hatch, straight port DB 605 A engine bearer, old-style heavy canopy, and small upper wing bumps.
Respectfully,
Steve Sheflin

Thanks RudiS for your new find and Steve, for your insight. IMHO we have here a G-6 or a G-8 as I still wait to see a documented G-14 with an old three piece canopy. Notice also the white ring painted on the spinner: this might indicate a NAGr., like the planes of NAGr. , like The machines of possibly NAGr. 32 do document it.

Sincerely
Marc

Re: eBAy: Captured german planes

Does anyone have an ID on the Me 262? Could it be white 22 of JV 44 found at Salzburg?

Re: eBAy: Captured german planes

Thank you once again, Rudi.

Yes, the wooden tripole in front and the pile of sandbags to the starboard side are seen in other pictures of "white 22".

Re: eBAy: Captured german planes

#1252 and the whole album was sold for $282 to a dealer

The dealer now offers the same photo for the "bargain" price of $500 here:

https://www.ebay.com/itm/728-WWII-10...IAAOSw1iFbZQ3q

Interestingly, the caption is shown as well and states that it was photographed at Ansbach. So, possibly a EGK(J) machine?

Thanks for your feedback, Roger; highly appreciated. The last two numerals of the W.Nr. can be seen atop of the rudder. Given the classic Erla style underwing Balkenkreuz, we have here W.Nr. 41xx20.

Cheers
Marc
