Oblt. Heinz Weber and crew KüFl.St. 2./506

Oblt Heinz Weber (FF), Obfhr. Karl Schütze (BO), Obfw. Werner Hanel (BF) and Uffz Artur Gräber (HS) were shot down off Ravenscar (N.Yorks) by naval gunfire on 10 November 1941. Does anyone know where I might obtain more information and/or photograph of this crew?

Presume you have the NVM from WASt? You could also ask them for the record of service via their web site and if you are lucky you will get a typed resume. BA at Aachen used to send copies of officers records of service but I think the policy has changed

Chris, Yes I do have a copy of the NVM. As you will be aware, the service-record option is hardly encouraged by the WaSt website. One almost gets the impression that the DD mission statement is: 'The answer is "no"; what is the question' - or am I simply being too sensitive?
