A place name I can't locate

Gang,

I was reading volume 4 of the Med Air War by Shores, when I came across an entry (page 408)

On October 15, 1943 US Medium bombers flew a raid to Salonika, Greece (Thessaloniki) and another place named "Megalo Mikra". I can't find this second place; On top of that, it sounds like a 'joke' name:
Megalo means large or great but Mikra means small or tiny, or if you will "Big/Small".

Anybody know where this target is/was? I did the usual Google/Wikipedia search but I got nothing (that made sense, anyway)

Thanks, ahead of time

NM

Re: A place name I can't locate

This link describes several airfields at/near Salonika on pdf pages 60 to 64 (text pages 58 to 62) which includes Saloniki-Megalo Mikra. Of interest might be that it gives the location of the October 15 attack by Mitchell bombers as Saloniki-Sedes (see pdf page 63).

https://www.ww2.dk/Airfields%20-%20G...Dodecanese.pdf

"15 Oct 43: bombed by XII Bomber Command B-25 Mitchells - 4 x Ju 88A-4s,
1 x Ju 88 A-14 and 1 x Kl 35 from II./KG 51 destroyed (2) or damaged (4)
on the ground."
