I/SG1 claims on 20Apr45

Does anyone have the names (and usual info) on claims made by the pilots of I/SG1 on the 20Apr45 northeast of Berlin. Karl Stein described it as 10 FW 190 against 40 Yaks. Stein stated there was three claims.

Have records of three Yaks being claimed but no other details. At this time of the war, details of anything are problematic.

Thanks John! To bad Stein didn't write more. Two of the Yaks actually went down.

Hi Nokose,

I was wondering if you were able to provide details on the unit, who the pilots were and what their fates?

Both were from 149 IAP. Combat 16.20-16.30 (M.T.)

Deputy escadrilya commander Starshiy Leytenant Aleksey Novikov died when his parachute failed to open.
Leytenant Evgeny Kir'janov bailed out and returned to unit.
