the personality of S/Lt. Pierre Le Gloan

Hello
I don t know if he fall under the Axis Air Forces or Allied but here I go , what type of person was S/Lt. Pierre Le Gloan of GC III/6 who fought against the German, Italians and commonwealth air forces.

I have not see any book bio like Pierre Clousterman and I think the only negative thing against him, that he flew with the Vichy air force in Syria.
before he had a chance to fight on the allied side again he was KIFA on 11 September 1943 while landing a Bell P-39N-1 Air Cobra.

Or some had hinted he could have gone to Rusia and fly with the Norman die- Niemen regiment, and maybe increase his personal score.

Would appreciate some background info about this French air ace.

thanks in advance
Santiago

Some info here: http://aerostories.free.fr/pil_cha_fr/legloan/

As for Le Gloan going to URSS with Normandie-Niemen, the French unit in 1943 was roughly of the size of a French Groupe (or a RAF squadron), not the regiment (roughly equivalent to a RAF Wing or USAAF Fighter Group) it was in 1945, so a very low percentage of French fighters pilots took this choice in 1943.

When Le Gloan died on 11 September 1943, a total of 37 pilots had joined Normandie since November 1942. The majority were members of the FAFL since 1940 or 1941, and by this date 15 were already KIA or MIA, 1 POW and 1 wounded, while another had left the unit.
