Re: Fw. Tarnahy and Fhr. Gynis

These losses are in fact listed in the GQM loss returns but they are not mentioned in the I./JG 52 chronicle in JFV 12/II. Bf 109 F losses of I./JG 52 in May 1943 are strange because this group had re-eqipped from Bf 109 F to Bf 109 G in June/July 1942.

Re: Fw. Tarnahy and Fhr. Gynis

They are however listed in Fast, JG 52, IV, p.92. And looking at the names, though listed as I./JG 52 losses, were these guys possibly from one of the allied Slovak or Kroat units attached to JG 52? They aren't listed there either, but? Or similar unit transferring aircraft? There is a certain lack of detail in the losses. BTW, rather than The F-4 WNr.12741, I have WNr. 12721, with WNr. 12741 being an 85% loss with II./JG 5 on 23-Feb-43.

Re: Fw. Tarnahy and Fhr. Gynis

According to GQM 6 Oct 1941 and JFV 6/II the Bf 109 F-4 WNr. 7007 was damaged 70% by gunfire from enemy aircraft on an operational flight near Kiew on 20 Sep 1941 with III./JG 52, no personal loss. Handwritten addition in the GQM BA Freiburg version: loss category 5 = Totalverlust/destroyed.
