Ww2 German bomber crash nr Appledore station, kent

Hi ,
I am after some help regarding a German bomber that crashed nr appledore station (romney marsh) kent .my father in law who is now 80 , remembers it crashing near his grandmothers house where he lived a boy ,also one of the young crew (off 4)who had bailed out , knocked on the door and was taken in and given tea and kept there till the local authorities arrived! It crashed in to railway embankment approx a mile from the station , the engines buried deep in to ground and wings sheered of on impact . Unfortunatly there are no dates when this occurred , but any help where I might be able to find out what the plane could be or a date when it could have happened ,would be a great help !

Regards
Matt
