Luftwaffe a/c damage to Tomahawk ETO 24-11-41
Did the Lufftwaffe sustaine any damage to a Bf109 and a Fw44 off Ambleteuse on the 24-11-41. S/L Hadfield of 26 Sqn claimed these a/c damaged on opps,I belive 26 Sqn lost a Tomahawk.

26Sqdn did indeed lose a Tomhawk on this sortie, however not in an engagement with any aircraft. The aircraft was lost to engine failure, cause unknown, IIRC not long before the pair had been straffing an airfield where flak had been firing so may have been damaged due to this. Either way the aircraft put down in the channel and the pilot was later recovered. I'll check my references later tonight and post anything else that maybe of value Buz |
