311 (Czech) Squadron 1940
Hi,
Two incidents not mentioned in the Squadron ORB are mentioned in the 3 Group Records Book for the 21st December 1940 The squadrons Avro Anson R9600 hit a post while taxiing causing minor damage, while an unrecorded squadron Wellington made a forced landing due to fog. There was no damage or injuries reported. A long shot any details available. I have checked the AM1180 Accident Cards for the Wellington (More in hope), I don't have the F1180 for the Anson. Also are the Form 1183s (Forced Landings) available from RAF Hendon. Steve

Re: 311 (Czech) Squadron 1940
According my files Anson Mk.I R9600 of No 311 (Czech) Squadron, on 20 December 1940 (so not on 21 December 1940), 12.30 hrs, taxying accident after landing at Honington, aircarft slightly damaged on tail (Cat. A), both pilots, Sgt Vaclav Ryba and Sgt Oldrich Soukup, unhurt.
No trace about another plane accident of No 311 Squadron around 21 December 1940 in my files. |
