1943: New 10./JG2 or 10 (Jabo)./JG2 ?
Hello,
I do not understand the organization in September 1943 of the JG2. The creation of a fourth Staffel within each group was made the 21 September 1943. For example, the 12./JG2 became the 8./JG2. Indeed, Ofw Willi Stratmann obtained a victory on September 11, 1943 with the 12./JG2 and a victory on September 27, 1943 with the 8./JG2: The transformation of unit is OK! But it is more difficult for the 10./JG2. Created like a new Staffel the 21septembre 1943, the new 10./JG2 belongs to III Gruppe. But the 10 (Jabo)./JG2 becomes the 13./SKG10 on April 10, 1943. Why one finds pilots victorious with the 10./JG2 between April 10, 1943 and September 21, 1943. Example: Ofw Johannes Stolz of the 10./JG2 obtains 2 victories on August 16, 1943. Another example: Fw Rudolf Holzmann of the 10./JG2 obtains a victory on July 04, 1943. Thanks For your Help Fredo |

10/JG 2 as a Jabo staffel ceased when it was adsorbed by IV/SKG 10. A new 10/JG 2 was formed in April 1943, believed commanded by Oblt Herbert Huppertz
