Loss of FW 190F-8 WNr 580791 III./S.G.10 Jan 25th 1945

Hi, guys.

Anyone able to read the name of the pilot flying this kite?

According to my microfiche, the pilots name was not Strohecker as reported, as this was stricken out and a new name put in in pencil on the report sheet (Genst.Gen.Qu.6.Abt.Nr.1240/45 g.Kdos.(V), lfd.Nr. 41 of Feb 4th 1945). I cannot read the family name, the given name looks like 'Emil'.

Any assistance appreciated.

Regards,
Andreas Brekken

Andreas

Interesting name

There is no Strohsucker's listed in Germany at all!

But there are 128 listings (family and companies) for Strohecker.

Dirk, how certain are you of the correct spelling?

regards

Mark

Hi, Dirk

What is Your source for this info?

A Namentliche Verlustemeldung should exist for him, which should clear up the name issue.

I have also searched the Volksbund site, and came up with this data:

************************************************** ************
Nachname: Strohhäcker
Vorname: Paul
Dienstgrad: Leutnant
Geburtsdatum: 05.12.1923
Geburtsort: Weissach
Todes-/Vermisstendatum: 25.01.1945
Todesort: 2 km nordostw.Gran
************************************************** ************

Hi, again!

I have now received positive confirmation that the above is indeed the person I was looking for. This information comes from the so-called Namentliche Verlustemeldung for the pilot.

For those interested, the WNr of the aircraft should read 580971, not 580791.

Pls see updated loss data at this location:

Regards,
Andreas

Hello Andreas!

Thanks for the informations. I will correct my data as well.
The corrected name was good readable.
But here catches me the problem with the different styles
of handwriting.
