Thumbs up Book: KONECNA ZASTAVKA SLOVENSKO

Hello Peter,
and ALL other readers of this thread,

The Book Konecna Zastavka Slovensko has arrived , thank you Peter.

Well, this was a very good surprise. The book was more than I expected for the price.

Produced as a hard back on good quality paper it starts with info on Luftwaff Units including Flak ones . At the end of each chapter is a table that has the references of info within the chapter.
There are Many Many Photo's each has english captions . There are Maps and a/c crews listed. Some who have returned in more recent years to visit, while others are shown by Dog tags and easily readable Documents.
Crash sites are shown as are the Target photos .
A full Chapter on RAF losses is there also.
The Colour Profiles at the rear of the book are just great, each one backed up by photograph.
Then at the last there are lists of crews, with loss dates, Fighter /Bomber Groups, Fate, POW Camp names or Cemetery names and also exhumation dates are also given.

A Well Done to you both Peter and Marian, for the hours of work and time that you spent researching to produce such a fine work.

This I understand may be the first in a series, if so then I look forward to the next one.

Well worth the price and I recomend it to any reader of this Forum.

Alex

Re: Book: KONECNA ZASTAVKA SLOVENSKO

Hi Alex and all others.
Thanks for nice words, We are happy to share the info we were able to gather through more than 10 years of research.
For those who are unavare of this book, here is the web page
http://www.kaso.ahoj.sk/the_15th_usaaf

and to comment the series idea...Yes it might be the first one of series of books. This one, from our pen, deals with usaaf crashes in Slovakia, the similar one dealing with usaaf and 205 Group RAF over Moravia and Sillesia is rady and in preparation for print, written by friend of ours Jan Mahr. And the third one , covering Czech lands crashes if USAAF (possibly 8, 9, and 15AF) is in preparation as far as I know..hopefully acting as a third volume of this free compiled series...

we will see what future brings

Regards to all

Peter
