Rudolf Hess, Von Griem The Hortens and Ernst Udet
1) Given Hess's aviation / aeronautical background prior to the Second World War, has anyone any evidence as to the degree of friendship between the five men above?
2) Secondly, I have some evidence that Hess was friendly towards the Horten brothers who appear to have been operating out of Cologne and Gottingen at or around May 1941. Again, is there any further evidence as to the level of friendshio between the parties? Many thanks. |

Re: Rudolf Hess, Von Griem The Hortens and Ernst Udet
Hi,
Having researched the Horten brothers for some time now, I haven't come across any information suggesting a (friendly) relation between Rudolf Hess and the Horten brothers. Could you please give the source of this information? TIA

Re: Rudolf Hess, Von Griem The Hortens and Ernst Udet
Apologies for vagueness as it has been somewhile since I have looked at this aspect. I remember looking at the transcripts of some taped conversations involving one of the Horten brothers.
From memory this mentions a visit by Hess - hence the original question. Many thanks. |

Re: Rudolf Hess, Von Griem The Hortens and Ernst Udet
Hi,
Do you mean the NASM Walter and Reimar Horten Interviews? Hess is mentioned once in the short transcripts published on this page, but there is no mention of a friendly relationship. Did you perhaps have a look at the paper transcripts also mentioned on this page?
