Thumbs up Re: Fi-156 WNr 4457

Thank you colleagues

This CQ + QX code was factory and the aircraft had it to the end or maybe in 2 / NAGr-4 was changed and painted L8 + ??
Can you tell in what area he crashed?

I also have another Fi156 WNr 5744 from Stab JG51 on the same day - it is a mistake to save H.Qu. Loss report are they two different planes?

H.Qu from February 27, 1945:
143. 15.2. Stab/JG51 Fi156 WNr 5744 35%

Kris

Re: Fi-156 WNr 4457

Hello Kris,

the crash places of the Fi 156 4577 and 5744 are unknown.

The complete entry in the GenQu. loss report from February 27, 1945 No. 143 is: 15.2. Stab/JG 51 H (= Heimatverlust, not F for Feindflug) Überschlag bei Landung Fi 156 5744 35%.

The Werknummer block 4200-5999 included the versions Fi 156 C-1, C-2, C-3 and C-3 trop as well as D-1 trop. The Fi 156 D-0 (LEMB) belonged to the block 601-800. For details look at www.adl-luftfahrthistorik.de > Frühere Artikel > Fieseler Fi 156 Storch - wie er wirklich entstanden ist (Karl Kössler), pages 12-14.

Leo

Re: Fi-156 WNr 4457

Fi 156 with W.Nr. 4457 was definately a C-2 aircraft. It was first tested at Fieseler Kassel on 7. August 1940, months before introduction of the C-3 version.
It also suffered 20% damage on 4. July 1941 while in service with 8.(H)/Aufkl.Gruppe 32 at Dugino airfield. In this and the fatal accident on 15. February 1945, the plane was reported as a C-2 version.

Re: Fi-156 WNr 4457

Hello Seaplanes,

thank you for your info. In my last post the WNr. 4577 is a typo - sorry.

The damage on July 4, 1941 is listed in the GenQu. report from July 24, 1941, No. 70:
4.7. 8.(H)/32 F (= Feindflug) Ursache/cause 21 (= mit Feindauftrag ohne Feindeinwirkung beschädigt) Pokumina Rollschaden Fi 156 C-2 4457 20%.

Re: Fi-156 WNr 4457

Thank you for your help.
Maybe this plane from the Russian document: Captain Kowalenko shot Fieseler Storch in the Stargard area on 15 / 02 / 1945.
Is there any literature about NAG 4?

Kris
