Rudder of Walter Oesau?

Hello,

I received the attached photo which might show part of Walter Oesau's Me 109 rudder as he apparently received the Knight Cross after 23 aerial victories. To me it looks more like fake. Are there any photos known of his tail plane after his 23 kill?

Regards,
Roger Gaemperle

The Knight Cross and ribbon are so bad done... Every photo I have seen in books the painters gave a great attention to details. Those condecorations were a great honour to the pilot and ground team. At first looks fake to me...

Hi,

I agree with Sergio, it just doesn't look 'right'. It would be interesting to see rear view showing rivet/panel/stitching lines etc too.

Regards,

David

Another point to consider is, since the part was "cut" from the fin, why no scratches or damaging in painting or metal. Ist´s too "smooth".
