Me 110 shot down 25/26 July 1940 from Weillington
According to Edgerley, A.G, Each Tenacious. The History of No. 99 (Madras Precidency) Squadron (Square One Publications, 1993) Wellington (P9275 LF-O “Orange”) is shot down during a raid on Dortmund on the night between 25/26 July 1940 by a German Me 110.
This very aircraft is apparently shot down by Danish air gunner, later F/L Morian Hansen, GM, DFC http://danishww2pilots.dk/pilots.php?id=35 Would anyone be able to identify this aircraft? TIA, Mikkel

It is generally throught that the Wellington shot down Lt Wilhelm Pack/Uffz Hans Hlidebrandt of 3/NJG 1 at Coesfeld. Pack was a former member of Z/KG 30

Re: Me 110 shot down 25/26 July 1940 from Weillington
Hello,
Actually 2 Bf110's of the I.NJG 1 were lost in this night: 1. a Bf 110 C-4 of the 3./NJG 1, crew Lt. Wilhelm Pack and Uffz. Hans Hildebrandt, after a successfull aerial combat this crew were shot down themselves near Coesfeld, both KIA 2. a Bf 110 C-4 of the 2./NJG 1 had a collision with a flare parachute which put the right engine out of order. The crew made an emergency landing on Gütersloh airfield, then the main base of the I.NJG 1. The pilot survived with minor head injuries. Unfortunately we don't know the Werkenummer nor registrations of both Bf 110's. All the best, Marcel Hogenhuis (I.NJG 1 and Venlo airfield in WW-2) www.fliegerhorst-venlo.net
