Tere!

51. MTAP was at Kolberg, Germany (spelling from Russian) from April 1945 if I got it right. And Orlenko Ivan Feofanovich (hope my try of English transliteration is right) is given as commander (Oct 1944 - May 1945). I didn't find his rank with quick search. Check the unit homepage too (in Russian):

http://www.bellabs.ru/51/

Mr. Anrey Dikov is the expert of Baltic Fleet aviation and should know the rest and more. I am interested too.

Cheers,
Kari

Hi Kari
Thanks for the reply. 51. MTAP bombed the harbours of Roenne and Neksoe in May 1945. It is a part of Danish history that are not well studied. A lot of books from the Cold War dismissed the Russian attacks as terror attacks against a danish city. The target was German ships in the two harbours, but the pilots hit almost everything else. I think that some of the bombers attacked from the sea and then 'walked their bombs' up through the city of Roenne.
The Danes always claimed that the Germans shot down a couple of Russian planes, but the Russians denies that. I don't think that any Russian planes were shot down, but I would be nice to know for sure.

Did some tests, but on my setup I had the best result switching off automatic selection going into more and choosing Cyrillic Windows.

Picked up the Cyrillic word for aircraft a couple of times, that's about as far as I go ops:

VVS-KBF Order of Battle

Hi Carl,

Is it possible that you could list the OoB for VVS-KBF for 01May43 or list any links or books (in English) that might contain this info.

Regards

Andy Fletcher
