Ernst-Albrecht Schultz JG/53

Hello

In JVD Teil 6/II (J.Prien)

(8.) 26/06/41=DB-3
(9.) 29/06/41=SB-3

In JVD Teil 8/II
(16.) 06/07/42=Spit
(17.) 07/07/42=Spit
(12.) 12/10/42=Spit
(13.) 30/12/42=P-38
(14.) 30/12/42=P-38

Obviously there is a problem!

Re: Ernst-Albrecht Schultz JG/53

Hello Michel,

according to a note in JFV 8/II page 152 the claims on 30 Dec 1942 were originally the no. 19 and 20. In 1943 there were deletions by the RLM reducing the claims 19 and 20 to 13 and 14.

Leo

Re: Ernst-Albrecht Schultz JG/53

Michel,

there is no problem. As we pointed out in JFV 8/II, apparently a number of Ernst-Albrecht Schultz's claims, apparently all from the early war period with I./JG53, were later stricken, which changed the numbers of his subsequent claims accordingly. Unfortunately we still used the old numbers for the first two claims made in the MTO in 1942, whereas the last three got their definitive numbers, i.e. 12 to 14. So no gap, no problem but just erroneous numbering of two claims.

Having just revised my Brothers in Arms book, I would concur with Jochen. Claims I had 26 years ago have now been revised as they were not confirmed or accepted
