Re: Crash Landed 55FG 38FS P-38
Possibly 42-67301, "Mississippi Mudcat", CG-Z (bar), flown by Leon M Patterson. The plane was lost on 31 January, 1944. It crash landed in a potato field in the Netherlands. His story is here:
http://www.station131.co.uk/55th/Pil...n%20M%20Lt.htm MACR starts here: https://www.fold3.com/image/28715559 In the MACR, the markings are given as CG-Z (over a bar) and with a triangle on the tail. (The MACR eyewitness did not see the plane crash-land but saw it off the coast while still in the air.) https://aviation-safety.net/wikibase/wiki.php?id=50961 Last edited by RSwank; 2nd March 2019 at 16:12. |
