Frontflieger Sammelgruppe

Hallo everybody,
May I know what was a "Frontflieger Sammelgruppe"?

Thanks in advance

Re: Frontflieger Sammelgruppe

It was just a pool of aircrew where people waited until they were assigned to a unit. If (for example) a bomber crew was needed, they might ask at the Sammelgruppe if anyone there had flown a Ju 88, who was a trained radio man, who was a gunner … and make up a crew from those people.
