Hi,

to the American pilot Tait:
MACR 9787 P-47 D-27-RE, serial 42-27343, 371st FG, 406th FS.
Shot down on 20 Oct 1944 at 1600 hrs, crash place Kohlplatthäusle, 2 km north of Breitnau, German casualty no./Abschussnummer ME 2322, damage 99%. 1st Lt Harry Hammond Tait Jr. was captured at Lenzkirch on 21 Oct about 11 o‘clock.

Chris, I did a personal interview with Walter just 2 years ago and the News Clip was made because he visited me and his crash site.
