colour of this wing...

HI guys,

I have doubts, whether this liberator wing and thus all a/c is olive drab or natural metal...
Any suggestions appreciated.

Re: colour of this wing...

What you see is the de-icing boot. It has been removed or deteriorated. The wing is in a bad state so the black rubber has faded or is gone revealing the unpainted inside.

This plane crashed, and burned. At least main part of the fuselage. Wings were thrown away during emergency landing attempt, which ended fatally for 4 men.So it may be a bit darker due to the smoke, but as well olive colour. Anyone can decide definitelly?

I don't belive I'm going out on a limb by saying that is an Olive Drab wing.

The national marking is quite intact and if there is any "smoke" damage, it is minor, as the white is still quite prominant.

I'm not even sure if there was much fire, the fabric covered control surface could have just deteriorated or even been stripped by souviner hunters.
