Walter Oesau speech
It might have been posted here before but I think it is well worth watching:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=plZr-nQTDLE From 5:35 there is about a minute long speech by Walter Oesau. |

Thanks for posting. A good part of the footage, including Oesau's speech, has surprisingly good visual fidelity. I especially liked the gun camera films of German fighter attacks on the B-17's and B-24's. I found interesting that many of the attacks depicted were from the rear rather than the head-on attacks discussed often in WWII aerial combat references. I presume that head-on attacks on the heavy bomber formations, while subjecting the attacking fighters to considerably less concentrated return fire, required a high level of marksmanship and steady nerves and therefore were not implemented as often by the less experienced pilots compared to the "old hares". Re: Walter Oesau speech
Yep, this is the April 26, 1944 speech - a little over a fortnight later, Oesau would be dead. He always looks so tired during late 1943-44 - you can really tell how much the constant war ages someone by looking at his photographs from the early years to 1944. Gotta love that Nordlich accent, heh heh.
