Of course the reality was a bit different than the picture painted by this film.
The Mosquito was, true, a very important component of BOAC's fast flights to and from Sweden, but it never replaced any other aircraft. Many other far slower workhorses continued to be used, such as Lockheed Hudsons and Lodestars and also Douglas Dakotas. Of a recorded 1412 flights into Stockholm during the war, the Mosquito was responsible for 542. Cheers Stig |
