Re: eBAy: Captured german planes

Hello,

here is a survey of the German literature:

Jet & Prop 3/2003
Article of Joachim Geyer „Green 5“ = Probably Bf 109 G-14/AS, pilot Oblt Dieterle.

Jet & Prop 4/2003
Correction of Harald Herbert Vogt: „Green 5“ = Bf 109 G-6/AS

Luftwaffe im Focus Edition No. 4/2004
Article of Gerhard Stemmer“Facts and Dates Concerning the History of the Night Fighter Replacement Training Staffel, later I./EJG 2“
2./EJG 2 was commanded by Oblt Manfred Dieterle from 6 Nov 1944, but no personally connection to the Bf 109 G-6/AS „Green 5“.

Luftwaffe im Focus Special No. 2/2006
Article of Axel Urbanke „Almost A Miracle: „Green 5“ of 2./EJG 2 in Colour“

Luftwaffe im Focus Edition No. 13/2007
Reader’s Forum. Reproduction of the „Green 5“ colour photo in the special edition here in a better quality.

Regards
Leo

Thanks Leo ! I forgot about LiF 4, and there stands pretty much everything we know about this unit.

Cheers

Via some image processing for beginners, here's that He 111 turned the right way round, making the motto (»komm zurück« = "come back") easier to read.

Neither have I and it would be interesting to hear what our 109 experts think of it.

Why does it look like an E-model? And why such a tail wheel??

Cheers

Re: eBAy: Captured german planes

Now, this I think is no Bf 109 at all. Not a single part looks like a Messerschmitt.
Cheers
