Lt. Gerhard Schäfer MIA 21.04.45

Hi all,

Been a while since I have been on the forum but would like to wish everyone a happy and successful New Year!

Today I am searching for loss data regarding Lt. Gerhard Schäfer, Gerhard went missing in action on the 21st April 1945. I believe he served with KG26? Any further information would be greatly appreciated.

Regards,

Melvin

Re: Lt. Gerhard Schäfer MIA 21.04.45

He was amongst a number from II & III/KG 26 shot down when they were bounced by an Armed Rover returning from Kattegat & Denmark. At least 7 aircraft & crew were lost with claims for 8 Ju 88s, a Ju 188 and 2 damaged. Hasn't this question been asked before?

Thanks Chris,

I am not sure if I have asked the question before, age is creeping up on me. Hopefully Matti will have the loss details for Schäfer and his crew.

Regards,

Melvin

Melvin, go to the search facility (sixth item along on the blue bar of the TOCH page header). Key in "Gerhard Schäfer" and your past will come flooding back to you!

Many thanks Nick,

I seem to be having too many "senior" moments lately!
Everything is clear now, thanks for your help.

All the best

Melvin
