Re: location in France?

Hi John,

There is two locality named "Herby"in France:
-Herby near Ottange (57),
-Herby Fays near Gezoncourt (54),
and distance between Reims and them is at least 100km. Are you sure about the spelling ?
Can you tell me in which context you have found this name?

Jean-Paul

Thanks, Jean-Paul. Well, it is shown in Frappe's La Luftwaffe in Normandie book, page 351 to the northeast of Reims. There is no map scale but it does not look like 100km. Maybe I am misjudging the distance?

Hi,
Sorry, not founded.
I don't know this book. Is "Herby" an airfield?
Can you scan this map?

Re: location in France?

hello,
the aerodrome you are looking for is in the Ardennes. Herpy l'Arlésienne, aerodrome built and completed June 06, 1944. Used by the JG6.
