AR96 crash in March 1944 near Tarbes Pau

Hi guys,

I am sure of the following:

- an Arado 96 crashed in March 1944 in the Benejacq Forest (between Tarbes and Pau, south west of France). I have remains of this aircraft;

- it was either on March 6 or on March 10, 1944 (local witness memories)

- there is definitely one Ar96 that went missing on March 6 (1944-03-06, 2./JG 101, Ar 96B-3, 964379, 22 weiße, Pontacq, 7 km westlich Ossun und 24 km südöstlich Pau,. Bruch 100 %.
Flugschüler Ofhr Wesser, Hans, tot) see my previous thread: (http://forum.12oclockhigh.net/showth...t=27053&page=4)

so, my question is: is there an Arado96 missing on March 10, 1944 in this area ??

Thanks and best regards;

GC

Re: AR96 crash in March 1944 near Tarbes Pau

Looking at the Avions artcle for the Luft. training losses in France (Jan to March 1944) it shows the loss of Ofhr.Wesser on the 6th March. For March the 10th there is a D520 no.584 90% at Pau with Uffz. Hans Gerick safe, and the only Ar 96 shown is at piste de Nancy - Ar 96B-3 4430 Gef. Heinz Oberlander tue,

Hope this helps
